Exclusively convened for young professionals between 19 and 30 years who are currently engaged in or interested in pursuing a career in the Film and TV industry.
This event will hold on Friday September 13 and Saturday 14, 2024. This event is exclusively on-site and would hold at The MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
On Friday, September 13 there will be a series of masterclasses focusing on:
- The value chain of film making
 - How to pitch your ideas
 - Sharing African stories with the world
 - Film making on a budget
 - Life lessons learned with a proven industry professional
 
On Saturday September 14, we would have 40 mentors with each mentor engaging with nine (9) young professionals. Benefit from answers, insights, experiences and guidance offered by a mentor and also from everyone else in the room in addition to forming new relationships.
To participate, you register and pay a commitment fee of N5,000.00 Every participant gets a certificate of participation signed by your mentor.

REGISTRATION
															We are inviting young professionals to be part of the short film contest.
- Theme is GEMS IN OUR ROUGH
 - Narrative: The popular narrative about Nigeria is that we are laden with problems, poor, corrupt and hopelessly dependent. But this is not the whole truth.There are lot of gems in this our rough. An incorruptible judge here. A forthright policeman there. A bright indigent child here. A Nigerian start up that’s gone global. There are so many gems in our rough.
 
So here’s the task: Find a gem in your rough and produce a short film around its story.
First Prize: N2,000,000 Second Prize: N1,000,000 Third prize: N500,000
GUIDELINES
- Runtime: Five minutes or less.
 - Film must be in English or clearly subtitled in English
 - Participation open to only duly registered participants for YPLagos (Film and TV). Your registration is confirmed with the payment of the registration fee.
 - One film submission per person
 - Accepted format: MP4 / 16 x 9 aspect ratio / Not more than 250Mb
 - 
A license for rights to the music is always required if you
want to use it in your short film. You will need to gain permission from the
owners of the music. Proof of music clearance or relevant attributed license is
required to be stated in your film. - Submission deadline: Thursday, 5th September 2024 (not later than 6pm)
 - Shortfilm should be uploaded via wetransfer.

YPLagos (Film and TV) is a mentoring platform for young professionals in the film and TV and must be between the ages of 19 and 30.
Below is a report of the virtual 2021 edition of YP Africa (Film and TV) mentoring event.
Unfortunately, you can’t. However, we will try and match you with a mentor that is close to your expressed interest. Plus please note that our selected mentors are leaders who have diverse experience that will be of benefit to you in a lot of ways than it may appear.
It will run from 8.30am to 12.30pm noon.
